This Privacy Policy explains how the retail guide (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit theretailguide.shop (the “Site”) or submit information through any of our forms. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
Important: the retail guide is a marketing and lead-referral service. We are not a contractor, installer, lender, or insurer, and we do not perform gutter work ourselves. We connect interested homeowners with third-party service providers and advertisers, and we may be compensated when you submit your information or when a provider contacts you.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Information you provide directly. Your name, postal address, ZIP code, email address, telephone number, property details (such as the age or condition of your gutters), homeowner status, and any other details you enter into a form on the Site.
- Automatically collected information. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referring and exit URLs, pages viewed, timestamps, and clickstream data.
- Information from cookies and similar technologies. Cookies, web beacons, pixels, and tracking parameters used to measure campaign performance and attribute referrals.
- Information from third parties. Data received from advertising networks, affiliate partners, and publicly available or commercially available sources, which may be combined with information you provide.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Determine whether you may qualify for the services or offers featured on the Site;
- Share your information with third-party service providers, contractors, and advertisers so they may contact you about their products and services;
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support;
- Send you marketing communications, promotional offers, and follow-up messages about related products and services;
- Operate, maintain, analyze, and improve the Site and our marketing campaigns;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
3. How We Share Your Information
Please read this section carefully. When you submit a form on the Site, you are expressly authorizing us to share the information you provide with one or more third-party marketing partners, contractors, service providers, and advertisers. Those parties may contact you by telephone, text message, email, or postal mail. Once your information is transferred to a third party, that party’s own privacy policy governs its use of your information, and we do not control how they use it.
We may also disclose information:
- To vendors and service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, call routing, and email delivery;
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be among the transferred assets;
- When required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others; and
- With your consent or at your direction.
4. Telephone and Text Message Consent
By submitting your telephone number through the Site, you provide your prior express written consent to receive telemarketing calls and text messages from us and our marketing partners at that number, including calls placed using an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or prerecorded voice. This consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Message and data rates may apply. You may revoke this consent at any time by replying STOP to a text message, by asking the caller to place you on their internal do-not-call list, or by contacting us at support@theretailguide.shop. Revoking consent may prevent us from connecting you with a service provider.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to recognize your browser or device, remember your preferences, measure the effectiveness of advertising, and attribute referrals to the correct partner. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you disable cookies, portions of the Site may not function as intended. We may also participate in interest-based advertising; you can learn about opting out of participating networks through the Digital Advertising Alliance or the Network Advertising Initiative.
6. Third-Party Websites and Links
The Site contains links and calls to action that direct you to third-party websites, including advertiser and partner destinations. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every website you visit before providing information.
7. Data Retention and Security
We retain information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, request details about the categories of information we collect and disclose, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and residents of other states may have comparable rights under their own laws.
To exercise any of these rights, or to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, contact us at support@theretailguide.shop. We will verify your request before responding and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at support@theretailguide.shop and we will delete it.
10. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” signal. Because no common industry standard for interpreting these signals has been adopted, the Site does not currently respond to them.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may be announced more prominently on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
12. Contact Us
